The Role of Technology at Toby House

This is the first of a number of blog entries that I am going to make about the role of Technology at Toby House. I am going to make this post 'stick' to the front page for a while until others start putting up their own purposeful blog entries.

I plan to cover the following topics individually and will provide links to the pages when I do create them.

I may add or delete topics from this list as I get deeper into the discussion and I certainly recognize that I can pretty much put anyone to sleep on any of these topics. My hope is to promote the discussion of these topics so that everyone understands where we are heading and the reasons for the choices that have been made.

Feel free to comment here but if you have specific issues with specific programs, I hope that you will use one of the forums.

Technology utility

My take - the key elements on the table of contents above revolve around what elements will connect the various functions and locations and how we conduct day to day business accordingly. Speaking as one who is still catching up with technology, I sense that this is the prime agenda item. In that respect, Open Source programming is no doubt the best and more efficient strategy to pursue, as we indeed have. It is contingent on us all to keep up on this and explore how this will improve our efforts on behalf of those for whom we care.
